What to Bring to Notary Appointment and Essential Tips

Before the Appointment

  • Confirm the date, time, and location with your notary.

  • Ensure you have all pages of the document physically with you.

  • If there is no notary section on your document, find out what type of notarization you need (Jurat,Acknowledgement, etc).

  • Ask your notary any question you may have about the notarization process.

  • Confirm fees and payment method with your notary.

What to Bring

  • A valid physical government issued unexpired Photo ID (Driver's License, Passport).

  • The documents that need to be notarized. (Printing service available if needed).

What Not to do

  • Do Not sign the document ahead of time (Unless your notary if your notary gives an OK to do so).

  • Do Not bring an expired or electronic ID.  Photos of your ID or electronic copies, even official or government-issued digital IDs (Example: AZ Mobile ID app), are NOT legally acceptable.

Day of Reminder

  • Double check the time and location.

  • Arrive 10 minutes early.

  • Make sure all names on documents to be notarized exactly match the name on your photo ID.

After Your Signing

  • Store the document in a safe and accessible place.

  • Leave a review for your notary if you had a good experience!
